I'm so glad you're here!

My family always teases me because I hate surface level introductions and would much rather get comfortable and talk with you about your hopes and dreams, even if we have just met. 

​

But, since we don't have that kind of time, here are a few things to know about me. I'm primarily a film shooter. My favorite things to

photograph involve color and bright sun. My five children are my favorite distractions and my constant inspirations (also the reason I drink so much coffee).

​

As a photographer, It brings me so much joy when I can make people feel seen and feel beautiful exactly as they are in whatever season of life they're in. And whether I'm photographing you, your family, or your business, I strive to catch the details that will take you back to that moment one day.

Still curious? Here are some fun facts:

• One of my first memories is a heart-shaped prism in my playroom. I would lay on the floor and watch the rainbows dance on the walls. Years later I still find myself drawn to colors, sunlight, and movement.

• My husband and I live in Central Illinois with our 5 little ones (ages 9, 7, 5, 3 and 7 months). 2 girls and 3 boys. Our house is very loud.  

• I'm fascinated by personality tests (I'm a Virgo/INFJ/enneagram 9-4-2) 

• I plan my trip itineraries around where I want to eat.

​About Milou

Milou is a french baby name I fell in love with a few years ago. I kept it on my baby name list but it never felt right with our other children's names. Milou comes from a combination of Louise, a name I share with my grandmother and Marie, my mother and sister-in-law's middle name. So it felt right to name my business after all of them.
